Pitchers aren’t used very often often, but they are a nice addition to the table. The pitchers I make would also double nicely as a vase. Like my cups, I don’t make them with traditional handles, instead using indentations in the side walls for a place to grip the vessel.
Decanting wine, serving water or milk, the sheer joy of having something nice to hold rather than a bottle or container aligns with the spirit of the piece. Plus the look nice on a table!

The Japanese call these little sippers Guinomi – distinct from Yunomi because they are smaller. Often made for sipping sake. I think of them as a way to take small sips of a special drink. Sake is delicious, but maybe you have a special whiskey or scotch you want to taste. Take a sip, savor the aroma and taste. You won’t be gulping your drink with these!
